On Taxes...

I have vowed to help cut government spending and lower taxes in an effort to eventually eliminate property tax on owner-occupied properties!  I want to do this by shrinking the size of state government in areas that can be consolidated without service shortfalls.

On Education...

I want to model and reform the public education system by focusing on the accomplishments of private and charter schools and using them as a model to use in our public schools.  This would save taxpayers money by reforming the current education system and not spending more taxpayer dollars building more schools that can only house a fraction of the public school population and give poor results.

On the Community...

I believe that the community is what our nation was built upon and that the people are the backbone of our communities.  I want to protect communities from anything that would harm its very foundation.  I do not believe that corporations or governments should be allowed to run amuck and build whatever they want where ever they want.

On Commitment...

I believe that once a person is elected to an office, they need to serve their term and not abandon their office and leave the electorate abandoned and confused.  I believe that the people are the first priority and what they elect me for is my job.  After all, the voters are the people in charge.

On the interest of the people and upholding the rule of law in executing the duties of their office...

As a former police officer and current corrections officer, I believe that no one should receive special treatment and should not live as if they are above the law.  A person should not be rewarded for breaking the law, period.  Especially if they are supposed to be elected leaders.

My Competitor

On Taxes...
My competitor voted in favor* of a 65% county option income tax increase in July 2007 in the middle of one of the worst property tax reassessments in Indiana History!

On the Community...
My competitor voted in favor* of approving the construction of a 180 unit apartment complex in council district 13.  When the councilor for that district expressed concerns that the development would have a negative impact on the surrounding community in ways of increased traffic and effect on local schools.

On Commitment...
My competitor was appointed her current council seat in January 2007 and ran for a four year term uncontested in November 2007**Twenty-five days after being sworn into office on January 1, 2008**, my competitor filed to run for state representative.

On the interest of the people and upholding the rule of law in executing the duties of their office...
My competitor voted against* initiating a special investigative committee into investigating allegations of ghost employment against former Council President Monroe Grey several times in 2007.  My opponent also voted against* freezing the pay of Marion County Coroner  Dr. Kenneth Ackles Sr. who was the only person in his office to fail the state mandated coroners exam.

On Property Tax Relief...
My competitor voted against* City-County council Proposal 326 which would have given taxpayers the opportunity to pay their property tax bills in installments.  Providing a form of tax relief for the taxpayers of District 94.
